The problem from my perspective for relativity is that
if all is relative, then there cannot be rest mass,
as the concept of rest does not exist in relativity
as 'rest' implies that velocity is not relative
how can there possibly be 'rest mass' if zero velocity does not exist?
also if mass increases due to velocity
that contradicts chemistry
as we have to ask
does the atomic mass of the atoms increase?
or do more atoms materialize?
still it does not work
how does relativity distinguish between the object 'contracting'
and space 'contracting'?
if just the object contracts, what happens to the space
around where the object was?
i want to publish the whole theory
but then i keep finding ramifications to work through
confounded complexity!
it sometimes feels like comparing Ptolemy to Copernicus
fortunately it seems momentum is conserved so
e=mc^2 still works
though the common fallacy is that e=mc^2 was used to
build the atomic bomb
but feynman points out that einstein's work was independent
of the a-bomb
and the press just falsely attributed it to einstein
(perhaps just to annoy adolph?)
