what was its purpose? except getting everybody started on drugs? ("wash day tomorrow" (of drug money) sounds like "oh stay tomorrow" and also a bit like "<mumble jumble> though")

i do not know this movie, and i am not everybody. and certainly not prone to going crazy!

figured it out now, therefore, is likely to be even more confusing.
drugs are one thing, money laundering another. that the two got mixed up in crazy politics, whose fault is that?

the catholic church perhaps?
